Tired Monday and learning French style(3 French culture shock)

出張明けの月曜日。あーもう忙しい。

やっと仕事を終えて帰ってきました。。。といってもまだ仕事が残っているから働かなきゃだけど、とりあえず息抜きにブログを書こうと思います。

Maxはどうやらフランスを満喫してるみたいで本当に良かった:)

さて、昨日空港で買ったFrench or Poe?邦題：フランス人この奇妙な人たちという本なんだけど、本当に面白い。

フランス人の特徴をよく捉えていて、気をつけること・受け入れるべきとこなどをとっても上手に説明してくれてる。

昨日空港で読んだ中で、あーなるほどと思ったことが幾つかあったのでご紹介。

１：Bonjour, Monsieur!(Madame)文化。

フランス人はBonjourの後に必ずと言っていいほどMonsieurかMadameをつけるらしい。それがフランスに打ち解ける第一歩なんだとか。これは本当にそうなのかMaxに後で聞いてみたいんだけど、私ずっと前からMaxが朝必ずMorning “Miss“!っていうのを不思議に思ってたの。でもこの本を読んで、きっとここから来てるんだろうな〜って納得。なるほどー！！。

２：フランス人は暗いのが好きらしい。

本によるとアメリカ人やオーストラリア人は明るい部屋を好むらしい。電球は１００W。けどフランス人は暗い部屋でも平気なんだって。

そうなの、Maxは仕事終わって部屋に帰ってくると薄暗い部屋でパソコン触ってて、なんで電気つけないの？って聞いたことがある。

これってフランス文化だったのね。

３：ドアの開け閉め

本当かわからないけど、フランス人はドアを閉めたがるらしい。私は逆でドアは開けたがり。私たちのフラットはベッドルームとキッチンの間にガラスのドアがあるんだけど、そういえばMaxはドアをいつも締めてる。私は日本の感覚で、空気が狭い部屋に充満しているよりも風通りがいいのを好むからすぐ開けてしまう。そういえば、一回Megはそこのドアを開けっ放しにするのが好きだよね。って突っ込まれた。あー！そういうこと。

そして本の中にヨーロッパではバスルームに人がいないとドアを閉める、アメリカやイギリス（日本もだと思う）では人がいないとドアを開ける文化みたい。

全然気にしてなかった！これはMaxがどっち派か聞かなきゃ！笑

とりあえず、今日ご紹介するのはこの３点。

Monday after business trip…. It’s freaking busy! I just got home at 9:30 pm and still need to work more. But first, I’ll write some blog to refresh a little bit:>

By the way, it seems like Max is having great time in France.

I’m really happy about it and the pictures of France which he sends me are really beautiful!

As I wrote yesterday, I bought one book called “French or Poe” and read it while I was waiting for the airplane. This book is really interesting for me, it introduces us about French culture, behavior, educations and how to get used to French life style there. They explain about French characteristics and easy to understand it.

There are many culture shock and I found Max is “French” guy through this book.

1：Bonjour, Monsieur!(Madame) culture!

According book, French people always add Monsieur or Madame after Bonjour!

In text book, nobody writes about it. But this make sense about the phrase Max always say to me in the morning. He always texts to me “Morning Miss!”. This was my first time to meet people put “Miss” after Morning. So it was influenced by French language! I see!!

２：French people don’t care about darkness in the room.

The book says, American and Australian (maybe Japanese too) prefer to stay in light room. But French people are okay to stay in the dark room.

In fact, I sometimes surprised when I got home, because Max was watching laptop without turning light on. I already asked him that why didn't turn on the light?

It was French culture difference! But I feel it’s not good for his eyes to see the bright screen in the dark…:/

３：Door manner.

I don’t know it’s true or not, but French people prefer to close the doors. Actually I’m opposite from that, I like to open the door to make air can get through (maybe it’s because I’m influenced by Chinese geomancy; feng shui as Asian).

Yes, there is one door between bed room and kitchen in our flat. I always try to open it, but Max close it. He mentioned that I like to let that door open before. Ahhhh I see! It was a culture difference between France and Japan!

Additionally, the book says in US and UK, people close the door of bathroom when it’s empty, but people in European countries except UK prefer to close the door. I do need to ask Max about it!! It’s really important and he might feel uncomfortable! Let’s ask him tomorrow. Lol

Okay,,, I need to go back to work now.

But for sure, this book is really useful and interesting when you have French boyfriend or girlfriend:)))! You can find the answer of many tiny mysteries in daily life!!
